Verdict: $247 Million Awarded to Six Plaintiffs for DePuy Pinnacle
A jury awarded six plaintiffs a combined $247 million for their injuries due to defectively designed DePuy Pinnacle metal on metal hip implants. The six plaintiffs had to undergo revision surgery to revise their metal on metal Ultamet liner Pinnacle devices, a device Johnson and Johnson and DePuy pulled off the market but never fully recalled.

Protections utilities must offer wildfire victims
The California Public Utilities Commissions has issued a fact sheet explaining the many consumer protections that are in place for those affected by the wildfires. PG&E must discontinue billing to those affected who are not capable of receiving gas or electric due to fire damage, deposits must be waived, utilities must expedite move-in and move-out requests, end estimated energy use billing, remove any minimum billing requirements, add additional payment options for affected customers, and more.

Verdict: $140 Million in Illinois against AbbVie for testosterone heart attack
A federal jury in Illinois found AbbVie Inc. liable for failing to warn of the risks of heart attacks from it’s popular AndroGel testosterone replacement products. Plaintiff Jeffrey Konrad was awarded $140,000.00 in damages for his injuries and the jury awarded an additional 1,000 times in punitive damages. The punitive damages equal $140 million.

Texas Trial for 8 NY Plaintiffs Injured by DePuy Pinnacle Postponed
The trial against DePuy involving 8 New York plaintiffs injured by DePuy Pinnacle hip implants has been postponed. The trial was set to occur today on September 5th, 2017 before U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade in the Northern District of Texas. Judge Kinkeade currently presides over 9,300 cases alleging DePuy’s Pinnacle hip implants are defective. DePuy has lost 2 prior jury trials in Judge Kinkeade’s courtroom, resulting in over $1.5 billion verdicts against DePuy for its defective him implant products.

DePuy Pinnacle Trial for 8 Plaintiffs begins September 5th
On August 25th, 2017 Judge Ed Kinkeade of the District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, ordered the jury trial of eight plaintiffs to begin on September 5th, 2017.
