Contact William A. LevinA leading trial lawyer in the toxic tort and products liability field, William Levin has successfully tried over 100 cases– including the largest verdict in a single plaintiff California mesothelioma case.
Since his partner, Laurel Simes, and William founded the firm in 2002, Levin Simes has represented many thousands of clients in a wide variety of litigations. William has been very actively involved in high-profile leadership roles in Asbestos, TVM, Zyprexa, Vioxx, Hip Implant, Denture Cream, Testosterone Replacement Therapy, and Talcum Powder.
William has been called upon to utilize his relatively unique experience having represented companies with nationwide problems and then plaintiffs in national litigation, for the benefit of clients as well as to assist others and the courts. Bill’s focus has been particularly centered on science, experts, trials, and the development of resolution strategies that take into account the unique challenges presented by each litigation, and an attempt to identify ways to resolve them in light of the defendants’ actual situation, as well as the plight of our clients.
Bill was a member of the Plaintiffs’ Negotiating Team in the AMS litigation, engaged in ongoing, intense, and detailed settlement discussions for 8 months which ultimately led to the creation of the classification model that was used in all AMS settlements and adopted in part by other mesh litigations in the resolution of their cases.
William Levin and Laurel Simes went to trial and won a $208 million verdict, the largest single case verdict in California history for a mesothelioma case.
Has settled hundreds of mesothelioma cases and over a thousand pharmaceutical cases totaling in excess of $500 million.
